Driving

 Performance

President's Achievement 2024: CDW

The Challenge Recognition is easy. Motivation is harder. The program needed to do more than reward top performers. It needed to move an entire cross-functional organization forward. Sales and support, veterans and first-timers, all performing toward something worth reaching for.

The Impact

Nearly 40% of participants were first-time attendees. A pipeline growing, a culture expanding. Cross-functional connections were made. Community impact was created. And an experience was delivered that people won’t forget or stop performing toward.

What changed: Recognition became meaning. And meaning drove performance.

Solution: Incentives

The Impact

Most incentive programs answer the wrong question. They ask: Who do we reward?
Instead of: What could this become?

When recognition becomes routine, it stops driving performance. The same people win. The same experience plays out. And the opportunity to truly motivate the many, not just the few, disappears.

The Turning Point: We reframed the brief.

Not: How do we deliver a great trip? But: How do we design an experience people will perform toward and carry with them long after? Anchored by the theme “It’s Your Time,” every decision was made in service of that question.

The Experience

800 participants traveled to Hawaii across two program waves, each one delivered with the same intention, the same energy, the same standard of care.

Sustainable, scalable branding unified both waves without feeling templated. The signature “Aloha postcard” activation gave participants something personal: life-sized photo props, a shareable moment, a genuine sense of place. Cultural programming was designed for choice. A self-paced ukulele strum session let people engage on their own terms. Unused instruments were donated to a local school music program, leaving something real behind in the community that hosted them.

Inclusivity was built in, not bolted on. From non-alcoholic beverage options to an agenda that made space for every kind of qualifier.

For the top tier of performers, the experience went further. An elite dinner aboard the USS Missouri brought immersive storytelling, a ceremonial sunset flag experience, and a commemorative piece of the ship’s teak deck. A token as meaningful as the night itself.
